My Tweety Bird

I was quite young when my parents decided to get me a bird as a belated birthday present. I ended up going to the pet shop and selected what I thought was the prettiest bird there - a yellow Budgy we called Tweety, after the cartoon character in the Bugs Bunny shows.

I have to say, Tweety was never very friendly with anyone. She would never leave a particular corner of her cage, and would often attack the hand of the person changing her food or water. Cleaning the cage was a frequent chore which was made more frustrating by Tweety's incessant chirping and biting.

Tweety was a very beautiful bird, but she just never seemed interested in anyone else. We attributed her disposition to possible loneliness, and so decided to get her a friend we named Polly. Polly was also a Bugy, and she too felt the wrath of Tweety's personality soon after their introduction.

All in all, we were not very satisfied with our experience in owning a Budgy. Loud, antisocial, and very difficult to keep at times, we have not since purchased a Budgy of any colour, no matter how beautiful!
