Two Parakeets? Double trouble...

I have owned 3 Parakeets, 2 of which lived together and the other I had before I got the 2. The first Parakeet was a good bird overall, although he wasn't friendly with anyone other than me, and still wasn't as friendly as the Cockatiel I once had. He didn't have clipped wings and would roam free in my small room. After the first bird died, I decided to get 2 more parakeets, thinking that they would be happy together when I was away at school. I was wrong. These 2 parakeets fought daily, both in and out of their cages. And on top of that, the birds were so constantly on edge from fighting, that they weren't even friendly to me or my family! Even after permanently putting them in different rooms they would squawk at each other, and one of them (named Mikey) died after only 2 years of having him. They aren't very friendly in my experience, and maybe they require more time than I, as a student, could have given them.
