Tili the Budgie

When I was a child, we bought a budgie. I must say it is quite a pleasant animal. There were very few problems with it. Cleaning the cage was rather easy and fast, food was easily accessible in the pet store, it didn't need much. Very aesthetically pleasing and nice in general. It may not have been a canary, but I did enjoy its singing voice. However, Tili was rather shy and frightful, especially in his later life. Unfortunately, he passed away before his time, and suffered from some leg and eye illnesses before that. We suspect he was already ill when we bought him, though. I sometimes feel guilty about not speaking enough to him, or taking good care, but no one can know now. Also, I suppose it's good to let the bird out of the cage from time to time, although it might be difficult to put it back inside. Still, I think it's a very nice animal, but I'd recommend it to somebody older than I was, as it might not provide as much fun to a child as a furry rabbit or something more interactive.
