The little Parakeets

These little birds can be so much fun. They are very social birds and love to be held. they like to play with you and play outside the cage as well. They do well in a cage but as with any bird, they need outside of the cage time too. I never cut my birds wings as I had dogs and cats. I wanted to make sure they could fly if needed. My parakeets got along fine with my dog and often rode her back from one room to the next. The parakeets actually climbed all over my cat and my cat never did anything. They are smart little birds but you will need to be careful with them due to their size. They are very small. With that they do not need some huge elaborate cage but a rather meduim size one so they can still get exercise. I would highly recommend one of these birds for a 5+ year old child. They would have a lot of fun with a little bird like this and they don't take much to feed or clean the cage.
