My Budgie was quite the character--she had a lot of sass for such a small bird. Overall she was a great addition to our family and she was easy to maintain. I quickly realized the best form of entertainment for her was a mirror--she LOVED looking at herself and every now and then she would compliment herself (like I said-she was very sassy).
However, she wasn't as kindest towards people she was unfamiliar with. In fact, she was a bit aggressive (biting at people's fingers, squealing if anyone tried to hold her when she didn't want to be held). At the time we had her, we also had a dog around who was not to fond of her especially when she flew around the house--there would be a lot of back and forth running and flying around in the house. That having been said--I'd say a Budgie would be best for a family or individual who is looking for a small companion--living a fairly quiet lifestyle with few/no pets.
