I received 2 (boy and girl) as a gift one Christmas. They were lovely however the boy died of old age. The girl felt extremely depressed and refused to eat. I bought 3 more (1 girl, 2 boys). There were also bird box nests set up and soon, there were little baby parakeets. I thought the cage was pretty big however, unfortunately, the new girl that I bought fought with the old one and killed each other's babies. It was so sad. In addition, one of the babies got out and my small pup killed it. The beginning of owning the birds was really fun, but it just got out of hand and became really depressing. I ended up selling all of them. This was a good learning experience , though filled with tears. I may own birds again sometime in the future. It's been 3 or 4 years since owning them. They're cute creatures but I wish they would bond with me more.
