Acquired: Pet store

My hope in getting a budgie as a pet was to have a friendly bird who would be social, easily trained to do tricks, and who could mimic and talk. At the pet store, I expressed this to the woman helping me choose a bird, and she said that as long as we got only one bird, the budgie would be perfect for us and would bond with us. As it is, Sylvestor is not quite the perfect bird for us. He is untrainable, unable to speak or mimic, and prefers to be solitary. I enjoy having Sylvestor, but he is not quite as interactive of a pet as I was looking for. Budgies seem like a great pet if someone is looking for a bird who is more of a decorative pet, but if you want a bird to be friendly with and train, a Budgie is not quite for you.
