My daughter received this bird as a birthday present last year. It was very quick to learn to step up but he is very nervous when being handled and will do anything he can to avoid leaving his cage. At this point he is not handled very often because he doesn't want to be. While left alone in his cage with his toys he is very happy and has a very beautiful song. He loves to sing along to the tv or radio. When he feels neglected or wants something he does scream very loudly and usually gets what he wants. This bird does not need a lot of space when handled often and will become very friendly and hand tamed when handled often, but when solely confined to a cage I highly recommend a large flight cage, lots of safe toys that are changed out periodically so he doesn't get bored with them, and maybe even a companion bird.
