Steve, who likes sitting on heads

I bought Steve from the local pet store. I didn't know what kind of parrott I wanted when I first entered the shop, but I immediately took to Steve, the energetic parrott who seemed very curious. He was checking out all the people in the store from the safety of his cage. There was a great deal of curiosity in his eyes.
I set up a cage for him in my room, right next to my cupboard. I often opened his cage when everybody left the house. At the first few occasions Steve didn't want to come out of his cage. But then he started flying around in the room. Eventually he developed a habit of sitting on my head while I was reading or watching a movie.
Steve has a similar relationship with the members of my family. First he was cautious, but then he took to them and sat on their heads as well. He would occasionally look anxious when an unknown entered the room.
Steve is very easy to feed, and his cage is easy to clean if you do it at least once a week. I would recommend getting a budgerigar if you want a bird that you can develop a close relationship with.
