When I was about a year old, my mom got me a little bird, who was first called Cindy's Bird, and when I got older I renamed him Stormy. This colorful little guy was cute and full of personality; he was a Budgerigar Parakeet. Bright yellow, green, and black to contrast. He once got out of his cage and flew around the house, scaring my mother half to death, for she feared he would fly into the fan or the window and hurt himself. It is a good idea to keep the wings clipped on this species, they are little explorers. His favorite snack was popcorn, which worked out great because that was my favorite snack too. He was mostly friendly, but every once in a while copped an attitude and would do what I called nibbling because it did not hurt at all. Great little bird that will not cause much damage if it bites. Makes pretty chirping sounds, but does not speak or imitate words.
