Learning Experience

I have only had my parakeet for a little over a year, but I must say it's been a learning experience. I don't work with her that often as I did once, but she still remembers how to step up on my hand, which I have her do so I can pull her out for free flight time around the house as well as when I clean her cage.

Growing up, I was under the impression that birds were loud and annoying, and while she can be at times, it's actually soothing to hear her "talk" because there's always some kind of noise in the house. Her range of vocals is amazing as well.

I still get lots of bites on my hands, but I know this is more because I don't work with her as often as I should. I think I can handle the bites knowing I deserve them in the first place.
