My family first acquired our pet budgie in 2005. We [spontaneously] purchased him from a local pet store after seeing him one afternoon.

He lived with us for nearly three years before we found out he had a deadly cyst within his belly. We were told it was from the food we were feeding him.

In general, Gibson was a fantastic bird. He was a quick learner and we all thoroughly enjoyed his constant company. He was definitely missed when we had to put him down in 2008.

PROS:
- beautiful colour
- spoke lots of phrases
- picked up sounds and mimicked very easily
- enjoyed sitting on your shoulder or desk

CONS:
- when he shed his feathers would fly all over the ground through the cage holes
- sometimes he would be noisy at night
