Pretty Bird the Albino Budgie

Let me start by saying that budgies make the absolute best apartment pets! Pretty bird, my albino parakeet was found in a parking garage, most likely abandoned by her previous owner. I was more than glad to take her home and she was the first of many parakeets I've owned to date. Unlike most parakeets who are happiest with a companion, pretty bird was a loner, and I believe she liked it that way! I'm not sure of her age when I obtained her, however I was fortunate enough to spend 5 long years with her. She was very low maintenance, and was kept in a small cage with a swing, mirror, bells and fed lots of millet spray and treats. Pretty bird enjoyed sharpening her beak on her cuttle bone and swinging in her cage which hung above the kitchen sink. This setup allowed for easy cleanup of leftover seed hulls that were discarded below. My favorite thing about pretty bird was listening to her sing and mimic sounds like the telephone ring. It never got old! RIP pretty bird!
