My first bird was a gift from my parents when I was around 10 years old. You can imagine the joy and excitement when our little friend joined the family. She was pretty quiet at first and it took a while for us to get close. But when I couldn't sleep I used to sneak in the living room and spend some time with her. Through my experience, I believe this birds can get attached to you and truly be your friends if you give them the love and attention that you want to receive in return.
I never had problems with her health, but maybe that was just me being lucky. The food was also easy to find, and from time to time I loved buying her a little treat. She loved sepia shells a lot.
Anita wasn't the most quiet pet that's for sure but it always cheered me and my family up to hear her singing early in the morning and during the day. She was always silent during the night. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I was very happy with this pet.
Cleaning up was also easy, the cage wasn't too big and it took about a few minutes to clean up and a few times a week wash her cage as well.
Unfortunately, two years later after she joined our home, while my mother was cleaning the cage, she flew away. As the door to the balcony was open we weren't able to get her back. We have many precious memories with her and I recommend this bird to anyone who enjoys little friends with wings or wants a pet that is energic, funny and so easy to get attached to. Appart from the moment she got away, I don't have any bad memories about her.
