Budgerigar (parakeet)

From my experience, budgerigar parakeets are extremely active. They thoroughly enjoy free-flying and get antsy when kept in a cage for more than a day at a time. Also, they are quite vocal. It something that might take a bit of time to get used to, but once you do, it no longer fazes you. Something else that should be noted is that they do better in pairs. I love my birds, but a definite downside is all the clean-up involved, especially when they're allowed to fly freely.
