We brought Patty home on St. Patrick's day - hence her name-- she was a beautiful green coloured budgie.
We worked with her from the time she was little to try to get her used to being handled, but she was always a bit cranky. She was a nipper and would nip fingertips when we fed her by hand or if she was perched on your finger.
She liked to be set free from her cage to fly from curtain rod to curtain rod, but that always got rather messy.
Patty was particularly vocal at dusk and dawn, and overnight we would cover her cage to help her settle.
She was an enthusiastic eater, chatting and tossing husks from her cage as she ate. We kept her cage hanging in our bay window and would often have to scrub droppings and clean seed husks from around the window.
We didn't get to interact much with Patty, she seemed most content to be left to herself and was fairly independent. Between her lack of interaction, the mess and her noise, she probably wasn't the best fit for us.
