A friend bought me Michael as a gift. He is a very alert and active bird who liked to play. Cage maintenance wasn't a big deal, and it's easy to get food for a budgie. He likes to eat garden veggies as well (in small pieces).

Michael was pretty easy to handle and was quite tolerant of new people. He learned his own name and would chatter and the radio, and even started imitating my cat's calls! Very cute. Michael needed more attention than I could give him once I stopped being a student and began working full time. About a month or so after I started my job, I noticed that he'd been worrying his feathers and wasn't eating well. He seemed to be in good health otherwise. I eventually gave him to a couple I knew where one stays at home and his anxiety problem disappeared, so I think giving him up was the right decision.
