Bubbles the Budgie

My family have owned a number of budgerigars over a great many years, but Bubbles was the first bird I ever really got to know. He was my tiny friend and companion during my teenage years, and I loved sitting with him on the porch, stroking his soft blue feathers and watching him rock back and forth on his little swing. Unfortunately, none of my family's budgies have ever been properly trained, so I never got to hear Bubbles talk to me, which I would have loved.

Budgies are the ideal low-maintenance pet for big families, cheap to feed, easy to look after, and tonnes of fun if you give them the right amount of attention. You can even train them to ride tiny skateboards!
