Budgerigar, Budjie, Parakeet Behavior

What a wonderful breed this is for children! I had mine first when I was pretty young and they are a great bird requiring 1 hour of care minimum on a daily basis. Budgerigar, budjie, parakeet, are all multi- colored, and mine was a green and yellow beauty. They don't shed feathers much, they have beautiful long tail feathers, and enjoy millet seed. Their care will include 2 cuddle bones per month for calcium support and beak care. They will enjoy toys in their cage including bells, apple wood sticks, mirrors, and climbing toys. Cages must be cleaned and washed monthly. They are trainable and easily speak about 6 words. Mine enjoyed eating a trail mix of seeds, picking through them and tossing them around. I needed a cage guard to prevent spilling from this behavior. They are wonderful pets.
