Grew Up With These Adorable Feathered Dorks

From the age of 3 my family always had budgies around. If you start training early enough you can get them to tolerate handling by anyone. One little buddy I had, Pierre, would let me hold him like a Barbie doll, and he'd lay still on his back and let me rub his tummy. It was adorable.

These guys have very distinct personalities, and if you stick 4+ of them in a cage you can tell pretty quickly who is who's favorite, which birdy loves who.
Very talkative little guys, they'll wake you up in the morning bright and early if their cage isn't covered. Thankfully, as soon as the cage is covered up they are totally silent.

Sweet birds, but if they have stubborn personalities their snarkiness will shine through and make them more difficult to train than they would be otherwise.

Overall marvelous family birds, they were a big piece of joy in my childhood and growing up. :)
