It is quite a few years ago since I owned a budgie, but I remember it well. This little bird became really tame as I gave it lots of attention. I let it fly around my room and sat on my shoulder. It is a real friend if you treat it well and give it lots of attention.

Because of the food and the way they eat, any bird can make a lot of mess around the cage, but the fun noises and friendship you can get back from it, are worth it.

budgies come in different colours and have distinct personalities. They can therefore easily be recognised and named. Some can be a little aggressive, but that is due to the nature of that particular bird, not the species. And if treated with a lot of love, this will become less.

While I had my last budgie, I also had guinea pigs. The bird loved to go on rides with them, but they were not impressed with it. The guinea pigs became a bit aggressive to it and therefore I would advise not to combine these two animals in a very close way. You can own both and in the same room, but keep them separated.
