Budgie

Budgies are noisy, vain, nippy and greedy but there's something about these birds that make them one of the UKs favourite pets to have. Trained right, these social birds can be a delight to watch as they are incredibly smart and pick up even the most complicated trick easily and quickly. They need constant simulation and if they haven't got a partner, a dummy partner will make them happy. Budgies are renowned for being the vainest birds. They love nothing more than preening so they can look good for...themselves! Also they will stare at themselves in a mirror and even talk to their mirror images. They find themselves incredibly interesting and expect you to as well. Budgies can live for up to a decade if well looked after. Generally, they pass before their 8th birthday. But all it takes is a slight temperature change to endanger these birds health so looking after them is a big responsibility. Some budgies are known for whistling but I have known a few that have said hello or something sounding similar to that. If you have a budgie as a baby, make sure you handle it everyday or your little friend might become nasty.
