We got Bea hoping that we would be able to train her. Unfortunately I think this takes a lot more work than we expected or were able to give. She was pretty but messy, seeds everywhere and droppings if we let her out. The noise also grates on you after a short while. The good news is they're low cost and fairly low maintenance. But they are also a fairly boring pet as they're not very interactive, children might loose interest very quickly. They're meant to live for about 5 years but ours escaped after two.
