Many Parakeets

My family owned about 6 parakeets over the course of five or ten years. They varied a LOT when it comes to personality. One of my parakeets came to us trained, and was lots of fun. He would sit on our finger, our shoulder, run through little obstacle courses, etc. Any bite he'd give us would just be a little nibble on our fingers. However, our less well-trained parakeets were not so much fun. They were more for looking, not touching. They were happy to sit on their perches and sing and play with each other, but were not into humans. Their beaks can be pretty sharp if they're not wanting to be played with. Their general health was pretty good, no need to ever take them to the vet. We only had one die, the others flew away- so be careful! They were also a good companion pet for my grandpa who was in a nursing home- no upkeep for him (my mom would go clean the cage), and they would keep him company.
