Budgerigars make a great family pet, extremely passive and can be affectionate if they are hand reared. They like to mimic tunes more then words. A low cost to own but a bit of work to own, their seed needs to be blown multiple times a day, cage cleaned every second say as they are messy eaters, water changed regularly. The Females can die from being egg bound so if you have a breeding pairs a close eye needs to be kept on this and a breeding box supplied obviously.
