My family owned two of these magnificent birds since the birth of my older sister and kept throughout the birth of me and my little brother. We had them for around six years (until I was four) and though I don't remember much about my two adorable little birds, I do remember the constant chirping. Day in and day out. All you would here was cheep, cheep, cheep. ALL DAY LONG! But of course, I was born with them always around so I guess I was used to it.

The most special thing I remember about these birds was when my parents would open the cage and they would fly out. We would chase them all around the house in splendor until we got tired.

Unfortnately, we moved from Illinois to Texas and we had to get rid of them. My dad told us children that it was because the fourteen hour trip would do them harm, but now that I'm in my teenage years and can think logically, I'm wondering if that was really the case.
