Our Pink is our favorite bird.  We have 2 conures and 2 budgies also.  Pink does not talk, but he will copy a whistle quickly.  He has learned to whistle my whistle when I am the only one in the room and he wants me to come and get him.  He will use my husbands whistle when he walks in the door to get his attention.

Our Bourke's was hand raised and fed and very well socialized.  I think that made the difference in him being different from "regular" bourke's that are raised by other birds.  Pink has prefered humans to birds from the beginning.  We even purchased another bourke's to keep him company and they never even interacted, so I put the new bourke's in with my mom's bourke's that was also not hand tame.

Pink is so smart and inquisitive.  He wants to be with us all day and he is interested in everything we are doing.  He doesn't bite, he hisses and pecks at us to let us know his likes and dislikes.  He NEVER touches us in a way that would hurt us, he is just communicating his desires.  He is a real character that has won our hearts.
