Bourkes and Rosa Bourkes

I have had both normal Bourkes Parakeets and Rosa Bourkes, the pink mutation. They are quiet birds who are not the most active in a flight, which can make them good as cage birds. They are quiet, making occasional gentle calls but nothing like some of the other parakeets. I have had one Bourke who became very tame, would come to my hand and have tickles but others who will not be approached, all down to interaction at a younger age I would image. Personally, I haven't had the best of luck with these birds, have only had one clutch of infertile eggs and lost a few birds but still have a pair and am hoping for an upturn in luck. They are not fussy eaters, sharing the same foods as the rest of my flock and will often pick up from the floor as well.
