One of my absolute favorite birds.  They are colorful and bright.  Their talking ability is good and clear.  They are friendly and get excited easily.  They can be easily trained to do a few tricks.

The female species has a tendency to dislike human males.  They need to be well socialized so that they will go to many people.  I presently have two with us and they are a big part of our education program as I can trust them not to bite anyone even small children.

They are not cuddly but will allow for some head scratches.  I think amazons are a good choice for people that work full time.  They don't need a ton of hands on attention and can spend a few hours at home alone.  But should be out of their cage when you are home.

They do like attention and love to ride on your shoulder once they have earned the right that is!

They are typically not screamers but can belt out a good screech on occasion.
