I bought my blue-crowned hanging parrot when he was about 4 months old (too young to have his blue crown, in fact). I didn't realise he was a hanging parrot so thought it was rather strange that he slept hanging upside down! It all made sense when I found out.

He is a very active bird, always jumping around his cage, and loves eating banana. He is used to having me around but gets scared of other people. I sometimes let him out to fly around the room but he doesn't get very close to me and is difficult to catch.

I would recommend this bird if you would like a bird that is brightly-coloured and fun to watch, but not if you want a friendly bird that you can train.
