I have had Julia for a little over a year now. Julia is the second parrot I had acquired in a very short amount of time, so I was definitely no bird expert. Julia has so much personality and is extremely active for about 12 hours a day. She instantly sleeps once the activity in the house has subsided for the evening. She can mimic a decent amount of words but cannot instantly repeat a phrase I say. She gets very vocal when she is excited and it can reach annoying levels. She tries to be sweet but still bites because she is young. We are training her to behave properly and stop biting our shoulders. She adores human attention and can flap her wings to the beat of music. She even tries to sing the same pitches as singers on the radio. She eats a multitude of seeds, nuts, grains, and fruits and constantly chews on wood toys for her beak. Parrots are A LOT of work and should not be obtained if you are not prepared to give them your undivided attention. They are majestic wild animals from the jungle and need to be treated as such.
