My family had several of this breed throughout my childhood, but during those times I was too young to accurately assess whether a pet was a good fit. Ultimately, Guido was my boyfriend's bird, but we lived together for a period of years and I definitely though of Guido as part of the family. However, my experience did indeed teach me that, given the choice, I would not wish to own another bird. Guido was very intelligent and well-mannered, but required a lot of attention. I personally think that ALL pets should be showered with attention, but I unfortunately travel for work, which makes a bird a poor choice for my lifestyle. Additionally, I'm one who truly believes that silence is golden and Guido has very different opinions than me on that matter:) I love all animals and Guido was wonderful, but my experience has taught me that my lifestyle and needs are truly not compatible with bird-ownership.
