My blue and gold macaw was just like that mother-in-law you can't get rid of - but in this strange way, you love her!
About Noise: Some of my earliest childhood memories were the squawking of my bird. She constantly screamed, all day long and all night long. I grew used to it after a while, but friends sometimes avoided sleeping over because of it.
She scared me. She would nip at me, though she never actually bit me, or touched me with her beak. She would just nip, playing fun. It's amazing how intelligent she was.
She mimicked all of us - she had my mom's voice down solid, which was sort of scary. She said "Good night" to me one night - whispered it - and no one would believe me.
Having one of these birds can be a pain, but they are a lifelong friend.
