My mom was a huge fan of birds and bought one of these birds after things she's seen on TV. She's always wanted one as a kid growing up. But it didn't take too long for her to realize that birds aren't really the best kinds of pets to own. I tried to convince her for a long time to give Bean to an animal shelter of bird sanctuary, but she was so much into trying to train it.

But eventually, she gave up as the bird never learned to mimic human words/sounds. In fact, it was just annoying. To me anyway. I admit, it was a very beautiful bird and I found myself interacting with her to see if I could teach it any words, but she seemed unwilling.

I don't think I'd ever own another bird of any kind. Yes, some are very beautiful, but I don't think they're meant to be locked up in tiny cages and they can be quite annoying, especially when inside the house (and even sometimes the birds on the trees outside the house).
