Chutney, our black headed Caique was a joy and very easy. Caiques are a combination of clown and puppy in a small bird that fits in your pocket. This last they do literally. It was Chutney's favorite place; my shirt pocket. They don't have a lovely song, nor do they mimic your voice. They are not much bigger than a parakeet. But they will make you laugh when you're down and they will play nice with everyone. Ours was trained by us from a baby, so I can only speak to that, but she would step up to anyone and played nice with our Hahn's macaw. Her favorite thing was to propel herself on the lawn like she was a sled. Funny to watch. Everyone loved her. She was easy to train, and we didn’t hear much noise out of her. She sort of chuckled, or cooed, when amused and happy. And of course, they eat like a bird.
