Sir Elliott the Conure

Elliott quickly became the love of our lives. He was hand-fed as a baby, and we have continued to handle him everyday since we brought him home. We adopted Elliott and purchased his cage, toys and food at Petland. Elliott spends a minimum of 2 hours out of his cage with us every day - conures are definitely pets that require commitment!

Since adopting Elliott, we have only changed a few things about our lifestyle. The primary change is that we are extremely careful with cleaning products and candles. Conures have fragile respiratory systems, so we only use chemical cleaning products when Elliott is in his cage in a different part of the house.

Elliott is affectionate, cuddly, and loves to spend time with his humans. We clean his cage once a week, and we change his food and water twice a day. He eats a seed and pellet mix made for conures, and apples and watermelon are his favourite treats. He is a year and a half old now, and says "Mama", "I love you", "what's up" and "Elliott". We have trained Elliott to step up, and poop in the kitchen sink or over a kleenex. We are working on trick training.

Elliott is a wonderful, beautiful, and loving pet that we adore taking care of.
