Hands down my FAVORITE pet bird

In taking care of many birds in the past 5-10 years or so, I have to say that Ring Neck Doves are by far my favorite species. In comparison to a lot of the other gorgeous and vibrant birds, these little guys may not be much to look at, but they have a WONDERFUL personality to make up for it!

The great thing I love about this species is that each bird really does have its own personality - I've worked with some shy ones, some aggressive ones, some loving ones, and so on... but with all this in mind, the common trait each share is that they are compassionate and curious when it comes to their owner, especially if its a dove all by itself - then you will have a bird that pays VERY close attention to you! In addition to this, another thing I love about this species is their ability to communicate their happiness with you. Doves make a "coo" sound, which I'm sure you've all heard, when they are happy and once you are able to provide that happiness for your Dove and understand their personality, its kind of like a bonding moment for you and your pet. Something hard to explain...

In sum, though, I really do recommend these Doves. I don't have a bad thing to say about them at all...
