I've raised canaries

3 different times I have bred/raised/sold Canaries. I mostly had the American Singer Canary. They are absolutely wonderful pets. They do require quite a bit of work cleaning up after them. I have had as high as 250 birds at one time. I had an aviary type setting fixed up in my basement and it was absolutely gorgeous. One hard thing for me was getting the seed etc for them. We would have pet shops come and go an sometimes I had to travel quite a long way to buy my large bags of seed etc. Unless you are going to show these little critters, I would not suggest getting into breeding a bunch of them. Sometimes a pet store will buy extras but mostly not.
