Shy bird with an amazing singing voice

My parents gave me my canary bird as a birthday present when I was a child - Although birds can be boring for kids sometimes I really loved him.

His voice was simply amazing. Especially in spring and summer he sang several times a day, especially in the morning. He was also a really active bird and liked to fly around freely in the house. Having him was also not expensive, he never got sick and he didn't require any special treatment. We had two more birds, two budgies, and surprisingely they kind of bonded with each other which was nice to see.

Although I had my canary bird for many years he never really lost his fear of me and my family. Touching him was impossible and he never wanted to sit on one of our hands. For me that was no problem, after all he's a wild bird and not a pet to cuddle, but for some people it could be a negative point.

Since he's easy to handle and has an amazing singing voice I would recommend him to anyone though- But please buy at least two, they don't like living alone!
