Dog sports can provide tremendous physical and mental enrichment.
One strategy is to choose a sport that is appropriate for the dog's breed type. Herding dogs like Australian Shepherds, Border Collies etc. seem to enjoy and succeed at agility, sighthounds like Greyhounds and Borzoi are challenged by lure coursing, and terriers seem to have a natural affinity to earth dog trials.
