Fear of men can happen for a number of reasons, and is not always only applicable to stray/abused/abandoned dogs. Our own pets may fear other humans outside of their own personal circle, causing them to become stressed, reactive, and/or aggressive. Most often it is because the dog does not trust humans.
Reasons may include: abuse at the hands of humans, and/or isolation from the touch of humans, and/or too little socialization. In the case of stray/abused/abandoned dogs, the best treatment is rehabilitation done by dedicated and knowledgeable persons or specialists, and/or professional trainers. Such animals require extensive care, patience and time.
