My Toad Experience

Overall I enjoyed having a toad. I was always finicky with amphibians and was a bit skeptical about owning one, but after a month I found I enjoyed owning a toad (I was 13 at the time). Toads are obviously no problem with children and are very amiable. They are not very large (only about 2" long) so they're easy to keep in your room and Savanna only mostly beetles so it wasn't hard to find her food. The only real down side is that we had to keep her cage warm and moist, which was a bit difficult to do correctly, especially in the summer when we had to balance the heat outside with the heat in her cage. Other than that, I think toads are great beginning pets.
