Science fair treasures

I had originally gotten these newts as part of an elementary science fair, hoping to make an amazing new discovery on newt behavior. Alas, my 6th grade idea came crashing down when I realized they don't move a whole lot if you aren't handling them. However, I did find out that for a 6th grader, they were a very easy pet to keep, and were not difficult to handle or clean up after. Their favorite food was frozen bloodworms, but they ate a variety of foods I grabbed at the local petstore. To this day I'm still pretty amazed that such an ecologically fragile creature could keep so well as a pet.
