While they can be hard to find, the effort is always worth it. These are some of the hardiest dart frogs, but they do need a high level of humidity and regular feeding. Also only use bottled water for bathing and drinking. Their thin skins are vulnerable to chemicals. They are constantly visible, very intelligent; they interact constantly, have beautiful calls, and are fairly easy to breed. An excellent species for those new to keeping dart frogs. I have two adults and two juveniles- the juveniles are skittish, but the adults are the boldest frogs that I have.
