One mistake some people make with this newt is keeping it in an entirely aquatic setup. They are more land-loving, so provide both land and water sections of the tank ok? They get to 7" to 9" so one of the bigger newts available. I think that's great, though. They will eat in the water, and on land. On land, feed them earthworms and even slower moving crickets. In the water, they will eat dried tubifex worms and live earthworms. They cannot catch guppies so don't even try.
Not really all that easy of a newt to find. I got mine online from Backwater Reptiles but I have seen them on KS as well. They are absolutely so gorgeous!
