Eastern newts are fantastic pet amphibians

Eastern newts are quite possibly the most perfect pet amphibian on the planet. Not only are they beautifully-colored green, red, and yellow, but they are incredibly active and entertaining animals.

These newts are hardy, and prefer cooler temperatures. It's been reported that they are active even underneath the ice in northern climates. My captive specimens always prefer live blackworms, but will also eat prepackaged newt pellets, and frozen black and blood worms.

If you're looking to breed these newts, remember that you're better off with 6+ newts in all. They can be housed in a 20-gallon long tank (up to around 10 newts). Provide them with clean water (never heated) with zero current (they do not appreciate a current of any kind). They lay up to 250 eggs per clutch.

We've got newts for sale at the internet's lowest prices.
