Miss Lizzie was my second newt. I actually placed her in the same fish tank as my first newt. The two newts seemed happy living in the tank together.
Miss Lizzie was a beautiful newt, black with an orange belly. She was shier than my other newt, and she moved a lot slower (the other newt was an Eastern Newt). I sometimes worried that she was not healthy. For instance, when I removed the newts from their tank, the Eastern Newt would generally walk around and explore, but Miss Lizzie would sometimes just stay in one spot.
In general, I found my newts easy to care for. Cleaning and maintaining their fish tank was not difficult, especially compared to other small pets like guinea pigs. It was fun that I could remove them from the tank to interact with them.
I did feel that my Eastern Newt was heartier than my Chinese Fire Belly Newt. It makes me sad to think that Miss Lizzie might not have been in good health (she only lived for about a year and a half); I would consider this if purchasing another newt in the future. Despite their beauty, I probably would not choose this type of newt.
