Ahhh, the Axolotyl

So I bought this axolotyl thinking it was a "mud puppy", which is apparently similar but not the same. I thought it was a fully aquatic creature when I got it, and just plunked it in my aquarium, and he just chilled at the bottom of the tank most of the time. But it became apparent he would need a resting place. He changed rapidly and I had to buy a new tank to make his terrarium. So either plan ahead or plan to do it twice. Hardy eater, floating food when he had gills and crickets when he metamorphosized. I was in college, his tank made a nice conversation piece and classroom addition.
