We decided on one of these frogs because we heard they were easiest to care for and that they tolerate handling the most. That was important for me because I certainly don't want to keep an animal that was stressed any time I took him out or cleaned the cage.
Sage was delivered by mail and she adapted very quickly. Pretty much the next day you could tell she was comfortable and eating on her own. This species is known to be quite greedy in regards to food and we always get a kick out of watching our little girl eat. She will gobble up anything you give her and will often shove food in her mouth with her hands, its really funny and the kids love it! This species of frog tends to become overweight if you allow them to be so keep an eye on that.
Frogs in general do like to climb so a taller tank is best. Lots of hiding spots and a warm moist environment is appropriate for them. Frogs tend to change color when temperature or humidity level changes drastically so try to monitor that. Keep a thermometer and humidistat inside the tank to make sure the environment is suitable at all times.
If you are looking for a different kind of pet but a low maintenance frog, this is your best bet!
