When I was younger, I decided to "raise" some of the toads found in our yard. I kept them in bins outdoors, leaving them in the sunlight in the day and moving them to a covered area at night. They required lots of substance to burrow in, such as dirt and mulch. They also required a large water "pool." As far as feeding, they were simple - live bugs! Though wild, my toads were pretty chill about being handled, and they were pretty simple little guys. I would release them before it got cold so they could do what they needed to do to prepare for winter. If kept in indoor terrariums, I am positive they would be content.
